Sacred Journey Egypt
Where Heaven Meets Earth
Our Itinerary

We begin and end our Journey upon the Giza plateau, exploring the timeless mysteries of the Sphinx and
Pyramids in meditation and initiation. We are uniquely blessed to be entering the second Pyramid in the pre-
dawn hours  on our first morning culminating with our evening meditation in the King’s Chamber of the Great
Pyramid.  From Giza, we travel overnight to Aswan, the Nubian city of the South, where we embark northward
following the Nile’s course towards Luxor (ancient Thebes), visiting sacred sites all along the way. Aswan is
where we board The Afandina, our own private Dahabia, modeled after the ancient sailing vessels of Egypt.
This 5 Star vessel with our own staff and private chef provides us with the comforts of home as we travel to the
temples along the Nile. Here we visit Sehel Island, Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Dendara, Abydos, Karnak, Luxor,
and the Valley of the Kings.  We spend a total of eight nights upon this private floating temple, allowing us to
deeply enjoy and integrate our Journey. There will be ample time to explore the beautiful sites along the Nile
both with the group and on our own.  We spend several nights in both Luxor and Aswan visiting the colorful
ancient markets and meeting the locals.

Day One : Depart for Cairo to insure arrival by mid-day of Day Two.  The trip moves fast and any later arrival
than mid-day on the second does not give you enough time to prepare.  If at all possible consider coming a day
early at your own expense to feel rested and relaxed.

Day Two :  Most of you arrive in Cairo today and will be met by a Quest travel agent who will transfer you to
our hotel overlooking the Pyramids.  We will meet for dinner after our opening circle and attunement.  This is
the palace of King Farouk.

Day Three : We will drive up to the Giza Plateau for our private ceremony and meditation in the second
pyramid. We will proceed in silence to the Sphinx temple asking permission to enter the passageway into the
Mystery.  In ceremony and meditation, we will offer our intentions and invite the Egyptian neters to guide us
on our Sacred Journey.  Surprises will follow, unfolding and leading us to deepen our connections to the
Pyramids of Giza.

After our visit we will go back to the Mena House for breakfast.  The rest of the day is free to integrate, rest,
swim and explore on your own.  We will gather in late afternoon for a circle and then visit the Star Gate Sun
Temple of Abusir.  We return to Giza for dinner in  a local restaurant.

Day Four : We leave early for private visits to the Step Pyramid of Sakkarra. (A remarkable passageway into the
dream within the dream.)  We return for breakfast and relax until we have a late check out to go to a wonderful
local restaurant for lunch and then on to the Giza train station to take the overnight train to Aswan.

Day Five :  Arrive in Aswan and board our beautiful private Dahabia, The Afandina, which will be our Sacred
home for nine nights.  After check-in and lunch, we will have a brief circle and then take an afternoon felucca
sail to Sehel Island, the site where the adept architect Imhotep made a pilgrimage on behalf of King Zoser to
find out why the Nile hadn't flooded in seven years leaving Egypt with seven years of drought.  It became a
major place of pilgrimage for dynastic kings for milennia.  Reliefs are carved on the natural stone indicating the
visits of these ancient rulers.  We will make our own offerings to the Nile in gratitude for its life giving waters
and praying for its return to its own source.  At sunset we will return to the Afandina for dinner.

Day Six : Early morning ferry takes us for a private pre-dawn ceremony to the exquisite Temple of Philae
dedicated to the Goddess Isis. With the dawn we will proceed to the sanctuary, the holy of holies, to meet the
goddess Isis and meditate in her presence.  After our ceremony there will be plenty of time to wander the
temple on your own or take in the special meanings of the reliefs with our Egyptologist Emil.  After our visit we
return to the Afandina for breakfast.  Morning is open to visit the market in Aswan.  In the late afternoon we
begin our sail to Kom Ombo.

Day Seven : Early morning sail to the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus.  This is
the only temple dedicated to two neters:  Horus representing our Divine nature and Sobek representing our
animal nature.  Horus is the hawk, the Divine Child of the immaculate union of Isis and Osiris.  Sobek is the
crocodile god representing our basic natured instincts and fears.  At least four hundred mummified crocodiles
have been discovered at Kom Ombo.  One still remains in the small museum there, but the largest is now in the
Cairo museum.  Upon return to the Afandina we will circle for tea and cruise on to Edfu where we dock
overnight.

Day Eight :  Early morning visit to the magnificent Temple of Edfu dedicated to the god Horus.  Here we see
the 80 year battle of Horus and Set as written on the walls of the temple. After our ceremony  we will return to
the Afandina for breakfast and sail to Esna, an ancient town where the boats go through the locks.  If time Emil
will take everyone into this old town to see how they lived for hundreds of years.
Overnight at Esna.

Day Nine :  Morning yoga and meditation before breakfast and then the day is spent enjoying the beauty and
timeless landscape of the Nile.  A great day to catch up with journaling, resting and integrating the temples till
this point.  After lunch we arrive in Luxor to take in the magnifient Temple of Karnak.
We return to the Afandina for dinner with options to visit the markets of Luxor that evening.

Day Ten :   A wonderful early morning bus ride to the Temple of Abydos, passing through the countryside of
Upper Egypt which offers a glimpse into the peaceful village life of the Egyptians.  This temple dedicated to the
Pharaoh Sety I, contains the most beautiful reliefs in all of Egypt, depicting upon its walls the story of Isis and
Osiris, the raising of the djed pillar, the conception of Horus... as well as some of the most prophetic carvings
anywhere.

Abydos is an ancient pilgrimage site, where for centuries kings and commoners have journeyed to pay respect
and ask for blessings from Osiris.  According to legend, the head of Osiris is buried here.  We continue on just
behind the main temple to the mystical Osirion, Tomb of Osiris; a place of great energy and mystery.  Some
Egyptologists and scholars say that the Osirion is 40,000 years old.  We will work with the Flower of Life sacred
geometry symbols found here.

After our work in Abydos we drive to the Temple of Dendara, dedicated to the goddess Hathor, consort of
Horus, who represents Divine love and joy.  For thousands of years the statues of Hathor and Horus were
escorted from their respective temples in barges and ceremoniously reunited upon the Nile in celebration of
the union of divine masculine and feminine.  Sacred sound and ceremony.  Evening open to explore Luxor.

Day Eleven :  Early morning we travel to the West Bank of Luxor where the tombs and funerary temples lie.
We will visit the Valley of the Kings, the Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the first woman Pharaoh, and
Medinet Habu dedicated to Ramses III.  All temples and tombs on the West Bank are for funerary practices.
Afternoon open in Luxor to explore.

Day Twelve :  Today is a free day to take in Luxor with last minute shopping, the Luxor Museum or returning
to Karnak or the West Bank.  After dinner we have an evening visit to Luxor Temple.

Day Thirteen : Morning flight to Cairo and return to the hotel for rest.  Afternoon circle to prepare for our
visit into the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid in the evening.  Dinner on your own.

Day Fourteen : On our final day of this main journey we leave after breakfast for the Cairo museum, the old
synagogue and churches and the Khan Il Kalili, the oldest souk in Cairo.   We return in the late afternoon for
our closing circle and final banquet.

Day Fifteen : Morning international departures - Or begin the Pilgrims’ Path of Moses to Mount Sinai and the
Red Sea.
